Latvians are a nation of theatre-goers. We love our theatre in its diversity from conventional fourth wall productions to surprising participatory experiences. The showcase of 2021 offered a wide-range variety of Latvian theatre and dance productions created during last few years, some of them even before the pandemic. This platform has been a small window for our foreign friends and colleagues to view the current Latvian theatre. The discussion invites foreign theatre professionals from neighbouring countries and other parts of the world to share the impressions of current trends and challenges noticed in Latvian performing arts in this showcase and to reflect about ongoing processes and their impact to the social and cultural ecosystem worldwide.
